Other food blogs: Tigers and Strawberries

Most people who familiar with the world of food blogs know Tigers and Strawberries already, but for those of you who don't, now is as good a time as any to introduce you to Barbara and her vigorous writing. Why? Because she's just had a beautiful baby girl. You can see a picture of tiny Kat.

Tigers and Strawberries is a mixed bag in a very good way. There are recipes, and how-tos, intermixed with thought-provoking essays on many food related issues, written in an inimitable definitive tone. Barbara knows where she stands on most issues, and she relays that to her readers in no uncertain terms. I may not agree with her on all issues, but reading her essays is always like a breath of fresh, bracing air. She is also the originator of the Spice Is Right food blogging event, which challenges participants to explore the world of spices in various ways.

Barbara will be taking a break from blogging for a while of course, but there is lots of worthwhile material to read in her archives.
