More news about Marc Meneau's difficulties (French, Le Figaro). Somehow, this doesn't surprise me, if one can judge a restaurant from just one visit...it was really good but there was not the air of comfortable success one senses at other restaurants.

Sappy TV show, tourists help save Korean royal food

Japanese fans of a Korean historical drama called '"Dae Jang-geum", or "Jewel in the Palace", which tells of a young girl who makes her way into the royal court and becomes the cook for the king and the queen' are flocking to South Korea to sample the food and take cooking classes. There's even an amusement park with the show's theme!

UK supermarket Sainsburys introduces a new lower-fat avocado

The Frias avocado is supposed to have substantially less fat content than the normal Hass type (the one with the black knobbly skin). I wonder if it still has that creamy unctuous texture.

US nutrition giant Kraft Foods moves Europe headquarters to Zurich

The picture of the Milka Cow is cute, but I wonder how much they will sell locally...besides Philadelphia Cream Cheese (and Toblerone of course) Kraft products are not that known here.
